Reminiscent of Indian ledger drawings, this print pictures the soldier on the left, with text from official statistics underneath. The right depicts the Indian, with writings taken from my great grandmother¹s journals written in Sioux. The red irregular shapes in the background represent small pox under a microscope. Disease was another factor in the demise of the native way of life.
